My Mind Games Escape

Below is the YouTube Link to a very special near and dear to me moment in time…

https://youtu.be/hzq3ZpOgoW4 – Mind Games, written by John Lennon, my cover music with home video. Found this old movie in my #iMovieTheater. The cover music was so much fun to create. The audio was created via #AudioCopy. It is actually a two different tracks capture. My basic piano track with a layered orchestra track. My kinda fun, my kinda day! This slideshow inspired tears this morning as I watched it. The kids have all grown up so much and, so fast! The audio reminds me of the special day of creating that felt magical. I remember the feeling of being completely engrossed and taken over. Escaping in the beauty of the composition and the spirit of the music. It just kind of took me somewhere else and I loved it❤️. A special spiritual type experience!

Zoe’s Carrot Cake Was A Showstopper

Zoe’s Carrot Cake Was A Showstopper !

The music is my cover rendition of, Great Gig In The Sky. Written by Pink Floyd. I added a few effects. My wind chimes and the birds in my yard!

Zoe’s Cake Was A Show Stopper- https://youtu.be/fbVeJQ_Ico8 – Here is the YouTube link to the video I posted of our Easter Feast. My daughter made a beautiful carrot cake worthy of oohs and ahhhs! Deliciously creamy and moist with a light whipped cream cheese frosting. Amazing ❤️!

Zoe’s Cake-
Zoe and her Dad-

My daughter Delcee made the green beans and Mac and cheese. I made ham, yams, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, banana bread, orange jello with mandarin oranges, deviled eggs and crescent rolls.

I love cooking for holiday get togethers. My kids always bring their homemade goodies as well.

Planting My ❤️ Garden

I put together a couple of videos using some cover tracks that I made. I’ve decided that putting my home videos and photos with my music is a better way of capturing the essence. Sometimes I tell a story within my videos. I call it audio/video scrapbooking. I’ve posted these videos on my YouTube channel as well as TikTok and my Music Facebook page.

I’m thinking if the general public is somewhat interested then my kids and grandkids will be one day. If not now, then maybe after I’ve left the planet? They are all the stars in my videos. I’ve really enjoyed putting videos together of my life and our get togethers! I know that my son in laws have given me so much sh*! Especially in my early years of putting myself out there on YouTube. I have been the joke of the decade! The razzing turned into a deeply wounding, soul crushing embarrassment for me. It hasn’t stopped me though from putting myself out there and dreaming. The humbling has been deeply embedded in my relationships with them.

I heard all about how people doing silly and ridiculous things on YouTube we’re making a ton of money. While of course this Gram of 8 was putting herself out there musically for free. My savant like oddity of no real interest. I can tell you this, I have so enjoyed the gift! Playing and feeling a spiritual connection has been absolutely amazing. Between me and my maker, it has been the most personal fulfilling experience of my life❤️.

Having recently found out that both of my parents were deeply rooted in musical theater, it all makes sense. The DNA explains my desire to perform music! We are all here to explore our talents and special gifts. I truly believe that DNA has a lot to do with our interests and individuality.

Anyway, here are a few new links to check out.

I hope you enjoy my videos. They are authentic and near and dear to me.

I also hope that you are all enjoying whatever makes your heart sing! Find that creative outlet that frees you and defines your spirit! That’s ultimately what we are here for since none of us get to leave the planet with monetary things. We take with us those things within our spirit that define our souls!

Lost And Found A Winning Weekend

Greetings from Phoenix AZ. It’s still pretty warm but we are getting through a more mild summer here. We had a really productive monsoon season and that has helped to keep the valley cooler than in many years I recall here.

I have done a lot of walking and chasing my tail this week. With headphones on, listening to my favorite playlist, I managed to drop my house keys out of my pocket. Because I was walking and listening to music, I only discovered this after I returned from my 4mi. walk! As you can see below, I retraced my steps like 3 different times. I realized that someone had picked them up early into my search… I was annoyed that someone would do that. I learned a valuable lesson. If you find keys or important things like that, leave them! The owner will attempt to retrace their steps and if you pick them up and take them, they won’t be able to find them!

I put 12 mi. on my feet trying to find them! I was just so focused on finding them. I got a verbal bashing several times for being such an idiot and losing the keys… All day, I heard about how stupid I am.

Long story short, I posted about losing the keys on our community Facebook page. Sure enough, an older lady in the neighborhood had picked them up while walking her pooch. I am so grateful to have found them! That will teach me to stuff my pockets with water, keys and tissues… oh well, I got some good exercise.

The storms made a real mess out of the backyard so I spent a morning and afternoon in yard clean up.

The winter grass died and we didn’t reseed this year with Bermuda… we can reseed at the end of this month when the night time temps begin to get cooler.
Looking forward to cooler temps and patio dwelling!
This little gal loves eating Korean food. She has grown to love spicy food. Here is one of my favorites, a Korean pancake. We grabbed a bite Friday night.

I’m going to bake something for Labor Day. I’ll have to dig around and see what I can come up with. I hope you have a spectacular holiday!

Meanwhile, I’m going to focus on the “Win”. Those things that your spirit acknowledges you can do. Accomplishment feels good when you can get it. “All you’ve got to do is, win… Here are the lyrics for “Win”.

Me, I hope that I’m crazy
I feel you driving and you’re only the wheel
Slow down, let someone love you
Oh, I’ve never touched you since I started to feel
If there’s nothing to hide me
Then you’ve never seen me hanging naked and wired
Somebody lied, I say it’s hip
To be alive
Now your smile is spreading thin
Seems you’re trying not to lose
Since I’m not supposed to win
All you’ve got to do is win
That’s all you gotta do (ooh, it ain’t over)
Me, I’m fresh on your pages
Secret thinker sometimes listening aloud
Life lies dumb on its heroes
Wear your wound with honor, make someone proud
Someone like you should not be allowed
To start any fires
Now your smile is spreading thin
Seems you’re trying not to lose
Since I’m not supposed to win
All you’ve got to do is win
That’s all you gotta do (ooh, it ain’t over)
Now your smile is spreading thin
Seems you’re trying not to lose
Since I’m not supposed to win
All you’ve got to do is win
That’s all you gotta do (all you got to do is win)
Now your smile is spreading thin (seek and believe in you)
Seems you’re trying not to lose (it ain’t over, no no)
Since I’m not supposed to grin (that’s all you got to do)
All you’ve got to do is win (it ain’t over, no, oh)
(Seek and believe in you)
All you’ve got to do is win (it ain’t over, no, no)
Woo hooh, all you’ve got
Is all you’ve got
(It ain’t over)
It ain’t over

Better Late Than Never Pfizer Please

One down and one to go. I got my first Covid -19 vaccine. I’m way behind many of you. Most of the people that I know are fully vaccinated! I really researched the best I could. Information about about what to expect and the risks of both the Moderna and Pfizer Vaccine. Both have their appeal in percentage of immunity protection! I guess I chose the Pfizer because somehow my conclusion was that it had fewer talked about side effects. Who knows? I’m not an anti vaccination person, but I haven’t as an adult been vaccinated for anything. I just don’t put a bunch of stuff into my body. I’m not a drinker, I’m in good health so I don’t have to take medication. I believe in an apple a day approach to good health. I hate the idea of having to take a pill to control something in my body. Anyway my point, this vaccine was something I really had to grapple with in my thinking. It wasn’t my go to for a solution at first.

I really firmly decided that I want to be able to start living life rather than hiding out from a nasty, killer virus. I decided that a proactive decision to join the masses and take the shots would be the best thing for me to do. I don’t want to get sick with Covid. The next thought was even more the best reason of all… I want to be part of the solution in the fight against Covid-19! Maybe taking one for the team, works to benefit my community as well. If that is the thinking, I’m for doing my part in getting vaccinated! I’m right handed so I turned in the passenger seat of the car to expose my left arm. I had very little arm discomfort from the shot at all! I will do the same on the second dose.

I wasn’t sure how the vaccine would effect me. I got my first dose on Tuesday morning. By evening, I was feeling pretty wiped out. I’m pretty active and I keep busy with plenty of physical chores. I just felt kind of out of it. On Wednesday, I did a power walk and realized just how wiped out I felt! I ended up trying to sleep it off by taking a nap. That didn’t work, I was even more wiped out having slept. Anyway, I woke up Thursday and just kept busy all day. I was feeling fine.

The second dose is the one people are saying is really tough… not looking forward to that! I will however try to keep the goal of being fully vaccinated in the forefront. I don’t want to have to give Covid-19 more of my attention, energy or acknowledgment! By my birthday in early June, I will be fully vaccinated! That is a pretty cool gift… I’m not sure how this will change my celebration. Maybe I’ll go to Vegas (lol, just kidding). Is anyone else missing buffets? That is what I have missed a lot during this pandemic. We had lovely Mother’s Day brunch buffets here at a few different local casinos. Don’t know if buffets will ever come back ?

I’m pretty happy with this. ⬆️ Someone is listening to this on my SoundCloud channel, a lot! It’s fun to have a fan of something that you cover!

Whatever you choose to do regarding the vaccine don’t minimize Covid-19. It’s out there with several variants. What a heck of a year this has been. The decision deserves careful consideration. Be informed and do some research. Stay well and be at peace with your decision.

Focusing On Things I Can Do During This Pandemic

I have done some serious yard work this week. The new grass seed is growing. The yard work in the front is about finished! I trimmed everything and swept every brick lol.

Yesterday I saw online that my favorite idol has had to cancel all of his 2021 concert/ tour dates. I was so hoping that maybe this next year I would finally get to meet Roger Hodgson! I have been hoping to for so many years! Of course, I wonder if he may end up retiring? I don’t know if he will ever want to tour after being away for what will be 2 years by 2022. Awwwww darn! I won’t give up hope but the likelihood is not looking favorable through a meet and greet… Darn darn darn!!! “Don’t Leave Me Now” Roger!

It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you have a lot of angst and things to think through. This pandemic just keeps going and surging and making life difficult for all of us! It’s definitely taking a mental toll. My days are filled with projects, this was today’s. Projects to keep reminding me of what I can do rather than the things I have no control over. Projects to keep my hands busy rather than longing for an opportunity to play my keyboard. The house is taken over by a home office/ work. I have to keep the house quiet. Omg it’s driving me crazy tip toeing around here. Ugh. “Calgon take me away”!

*I also have not given up on playing music either. I still have songs to cover and to write! Here was a fun moment I had just last year around Thanksgiving, with Amelia. She was such a good sport!

My Cover of “House”, written by Sir Elton John ◀️

This is a song I chose to cover a few days ago. The song reminds me of fall and of Thanksgiving. I love this old Gordon Lightfoot treasure. I always smile because I’m not very confident of my French Canadian translation here. I’m hoping that I’m close enough to do the song justice?

My flower pot flag holder lol…
This adorns my front door. Too bad I never have visitors anymore lol. I miss entertaining! Awwwwww….
I stuck a small stuffed animal Turkey in my wreaths…
Wishing all of you a happy Thanksgiving celebration in spite of the trying times we are experiencing due to Covid-19.
I hope that you are enjoying fall and getting ready for Thanksgiving. I will be cooking a feast. It will be low key this year. I am however going to enjoy the traditions and recipes that I have made for my family for years. Stuffing, cranberry jello salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli-cauliflower casserole, yams, turkey, rolls and of course homemade pies!
Pumpkin, Apple and Pecan pies will be on this stand.

So This Is Christmas

I’ve been so busy elfing around that I haven’t had much time for playing music. Music hasn’t had time for me either lol my stats are way down. I did however take the time to create a video and a few SoundCloud tracks.

Here they are…

Last week was an anniversary of the passing of John Lennon so I played a few of his memorable hits in my own personal kind of tribute to I him. I’m pretty sure if he were here, he’d probably be annoyed by all of the covers so many of us butcher. Oh well, a gal can try!

Anyway, I enjoy every min I spend at my keyboard even if I’m the only one enjoying it. It’s a spirit filled adventure every day I can take time out to play!

The moon was spectacular! This is a glimpse that I caught of it yesterday morning.
Last Friday night I saw a meteor streak across the sky! Something that I won’t ever forget. It was colorful and on fire. It appeared to be close by although, it clearly was not! A spectacular thing to see!
Leaves me to ponder… Who Controls The Stars- My Original
